Step 2) Once you have installed mIRC, launch it, and you should get a window that looks like this:

You then need to go into 'Servers' and select 'Quakenet' and then select 'Random server'. Then fill in the information, (which you can simply fill in with junk) and hit connect.

Step 3) Once you have fully connected to Quakenet, you should be prompted to join a channel (like a chat room), if so the one you want to join to search cod4 wars is: #cod4.wars

If you're not prompted, simply go Commands>Join A Channel, and then enter #cod4.wars and hit join.

Once in #cod4.wars you can start searching for a war. If you were to want a 5v5 game on your server and have players of a low skill for example, you would say this '5v5 on low' / '5v5 server on low skill'. If you didn't have a server, you would search 'off' showing that you don't have a server. Other people in the #cod4.wars channel will then query you. A query is like IM, you will see a red name appear at the left hand side of your screen, you just need to click it and then send them the ip and password to your server, or if you have searched off, ask them for the ip and password to their server.

As an alternative to downloading a client, you could just use this: http://irc2go.com/webchat/?net=QuakeNet&room=%23cod4.wars

Just to keep you updated, we will be replacing both our uplinks and the port we connect to our provider into, early tomorrow morning in order to rule out this as a fault. If this does not fix the issue, we will move onto the next troubleshooting step.

I think now is the riskperiod, maybe that's why the lag is getting this worse.

We are currently working with our transit provider to get a new uplink cable laid and a maintenance window will be scheduled for this to be performed.

We will update you with confirmation of when the at risk period is going to be and the anticipated down time period will be which all going well will be minimal.

We currently trying to irritate the little niggle that's causing packet loss which is intermittent but is outside of our network and so being investigated by our upstream transit provider, and affected accounts will be credited accordingly when we have this fixed.

We currently have not got a time scale for a fix but we are pushing for this to be fixed ASAP to avoid further inconvenience.

We are aware of the issue and are currently getting it investigated. At this moment in time we are trying as hard as possible to narrow down this issue as quickly as possible, however this is not a normal / easy fix.
We unfortunately cannot give any kind of estimation as to how long before this is resolved. We will ensure your contract is extended accordingly in lieu of the issues.

Already in rage mode at host and now someone says it's pb.
Tomorrow when I arrive at work I will turn off pb on the server and password it.

Hand out the pass to your gamermates and regs on the xcore promod server. It will stay passworded and pb disabled until INX or I find a way to fix it.
 

Is it lag free?

Please give me a heads up when it is still lagging.

If it still lags I'm mailing the host, if they don't fix it, we change to the host where the bfbc2 is hosted or we turn the bfbc2 server in a promod live server and add a 12 slot match server. Not sure yet but tired of the lag issues @ inx. Either way... the rcon pass has not been changed.

Update: Lonely Wolf tested it and there are still random lags. Mailing the host tomorrow morning and if don't get fixed we're out of there for good.
 

that's why you have to fill in your name for a weapon me thinks, that & the fact that it are promod live matches where there are a number of 'classes' allowed in a match with the appropriate gun.

These will usually start at around 8-9 pm GMT and finish at around 1 am GMT.

These are not really serious buisness ^^ so if you want to play message me on Xfire mcstabi.

'Xcore members get priority over which weapons to use, as we need to get consistent  practise with our respective weapons.
